Why "Outspoken Ink"?

This name—and this store—has been nearly three decades in the making. Since the day we got married, we've shared a deep love for the outdoors and a passion for taking the road less traveled. Whether off the beaten path or just wandering without a destination, we’ve always lived by the belief that the journey is more important than the destination.

But like any real journey, ours hasn’t always been smooth.

Our Story

I’m a Disabled Veteran. During the COVID years, both Ann and I were diagnosed with cancer. Our family—three kids, a pack of pets, and a mountain of hope—had to adapt to a new reality. The road ahead became uncertain, and the adventures we once chased turned inward.

Through it all, one thing helped keep us grounded: words. We filled our home with meaningful phrases—reminders to breathe, to fight, to hope, and to keep going even on the darkest days.

Those words became more than décor. They became lifelines.

The Spark Behind the Shirts

Wearing shirts with honest, motivational messages started drawing people to us. Total strangers would stop and say, “That message hit home,” or “I needed that today.” Every shirt became a conversation starter, a way to connect over shared pain, resilience, and survival.

That’s when we realized—we weren’t alone. And neither are you.

What We Believe
